Members Honored at 69th Annual Southern Maryland Volunteer Fireman's Association Convention

On Saturday, April 30th, Members of the Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad traveled to the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department for the 69th Annual Southern Maryland Volunteer Fireman's Association Convention. Ambulance 799 participated in the annual parade.

Saturday night is the traditional Award's Dinner. Three members of Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad were honored with a life saving award for a call back in March. Lt. John Grego, Trainee Ron Stepp and Engineer Greg Whitman, along with Paramedics Jennifer Rasmussen and Tracy Shaw from the St. Mary's County Advanced Life Support Unit were on a chest pains call, when the patient suffered a cardiac arrest. After two minutes of CPR, the patient's heartbeat returned and the patient was Medivaced to local Cath Lab.
