November 15 - The Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad has been fortunate enough to have an active Cadet program for the past 20 years. The Cadet program is for young ladies and gentlemen between the ages of 12 and 16 (although we do allow some as young as 10 to participate), that are interested in learning about becomming Emergency Medical Providers.
The Cadets usually meet once a month (dates to be determined), and they are taught a variety of skills such as CPR, Basic First Aid, Splinting, and how to care for and treat other injuries or illnesses. Field trips may be taken to visit the Emergency Dispatch Center, Maryland State Police Aviation- Trooper 7 and the Emergency Room.
Cadets may also, on occassion, be asked to assist with the Squad member's drill/ training nights.
If you or someone that you know are interested interested in participating with the Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad by becoming a Cadet- please contact Lieutentant Kimberly Sullivan @ 240-538-2494.
The next meeting of the Cadets will be held on Sunday, December 13th at 12pm at the Squad building.
